Privacy & cookies
The short version: this website doesn't ask you for any personal information, and the one analytics cookie we'd like to use only loads if you say yes.
Who we are
This website is run by The Secondhand Craft Shop CIC, a community interest company registered in England & Wales (Company No. 15911774). Registered office: Unit 2, 8 Marsh Green Road North, Exeter, EX2 8NY. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, email us at [email protected].
What we collect
The website has no accounts, no forms and no checkout, so we don't ask you for any personal information. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and to keep the site running; these are retained only for as long as the host's standard log rotation.
Cookies
We use one optional analytics cookie: the Meta (Facebook) Pixel. It helps us understand how people find us and whether our social media posts bring visitors to the site. It only loads if you click Accept on the cookie banner — if you decline, or simply ignore the banner, nothing is loaded and no data is sent to Meta.
If you accept, Meta sets cookies (such as _fbp) and receives information about your visit, which Meta may link to your Facebook or Instagram account if you have one. You can read more in Meta's privacy policy.
The map on our Find us page is embedded from Google Maps. When it loads, Google may set its own cookies and collect usage data under Google's privacy policy.
Your cookie choice is remembered in your browser's local storage (not a tracking cookie — it never leaves your device). You can change your mind at any time:
Legal basis
Where the Meta Pixel is used, we rely on your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), given via the cookie banner. Server logs are processed under our legitimate interest in keeping the website secure and available.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have rights over your personal data, including the right to access it, correct it, have it erased, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If we change how the website works — for example, adding a contact form or newsletter — we'll update this page. Last updated: July 2026.
